Jennifer Aniston splashes out $450K on painting
Jennifer Aniston has splashed out 450,000 dollars to win a bidding for a painting at Christie's 'Artists for Haiti' auction in New York City.

Jen picked up the artwork, called Stranger #44, an abstract 2011 work of oil, charcoal and graphite on canvas, by Glenn Ligon, at the 'Artists for Haiti' auction in NYC on Thursday.
'Aniston, who was in the room, clapped enthusiastically after [Theroux's] winning bid,' reported artinfo.com.
The auction, co hosted by Ben Stiller, benefits health and education programs in Haiti, with artists donating their works for the cause.
The actress, who recently bought, refurbished and sold a house for a whopping $35 million, reportedly dropped a staggering $450,000 at a charity auction on a painting for her new New York crib.
And the 42-year-old star had her hunky beau Justin Theroux do the bidding.
The 6 foot tall painting, which can be seen below, was completed in 2011 and was estimated to go for between $150,000 and $200,000.
According to an 'Artists for Haiti' representative, though the picture was estimated at 150,000 to 200,000 dollars at the auction, Aniston helped break the record for sales of Ligon's work, spending the whopping amount on the 72" by 60" painting.
"Aniston, who was in the room, clapped enthusiastically after [Theroux's] winning bid," Us Magazine quoted Artinfo.com as reporting.
The auction raised a total of 13,662,000 dollars from the biddings, and the proceeds are expected to benefit the health and education initiatives for Haiti.
According to Us Weekly, Aniston and Theroux spent time with Stiller and his wife Christine Taylor after the auction, catching a late dinner at New York's Il Cantinori.
Stiller appeared opposite Aniston in "Along Came Polly" and co-wrote "Tropic Thunder" with Theroux and the couple recently took a romantic trip to Hawaii, where they helped actor Ben Stiller and his wife Christine Taylor celebrate Taylor's 40th birthday at the couple's oceanfront home.
The couple has reportedly been house-hunting since July, but have been living in a two-bedroom Hollywood Hills rental house since August 1, while they keep looking for the perfect home.
The actress moved out of her Beverly Hills home in July after deciding she needed to "simplify" her life. The property sold for $38 million.
Aniston, 42, and Theroux, 39, have been romantically linked since May. Photographer Terry Richardson recently gave fans a glimpse of the happy couple snuggling in New York.
Aniston will next appear opposite Paul Rudd in the comedy "Wanderlust," about an urban couple who leaves the city to try a counter-culture lifestyle. Theroux also stars in the film, which is slated for release on October 7, 2011.
